An ethereal portrait of Echinacea Purpurea (Purple Coneflower) in its full bloom stage, created using in-camera and analog techniques only. The photograph captures a fleeting moment in the day when the light creates dramatic vignettes, reminiscent of a portrait studio. Photographed through recycled materials, this particular piece reflects the surrounding leaves of the Eastern Redbud tree, which grows above it, while abstracting the Black-eyed Susans and Echinacea growing behind it into an interconnected merging swirl.
Mindful of her environmental impact, the artist uses a unique toolbox of recycled found object light modifiers (no photoshop or AI) to create her ethereal floral portraits. She captures her subjects in a way that reflects her personal experience with nature, both visually and emotionally, as part of her meditative practice.
