An ethereal portrait of Echinacea Purpurea (Purple Coneflower) in its mature bloom stage, focusing on the spiral pattern of the seed head. Created using in-camera and analog techniques only, the photograph captures a fleeting moment in the day when the light creates dramatic vignettes, reminiscent of a portrait studio. Photographed through recycled materials, this particular piece reflects and refracts the light, abstracting the surrounding garden of Echinacea flowers, and framing the seedhead in a swirl of pastel peach sunlight.
Mindful of her environmental impact, the artist uses a unique toolbox of recycled found object light modifiers (no photoshop or AI) to create her ethereal floral portraits. She captures her subjects in a way that reflects her personal experience with nature, both visually and emotionally, as part of her meditative practice.
